From vineyards of more than 40 years and from the highest zones of our wine –growing
geography (Cenicero, Uruñuela y San Asensio), as an outstanding characteristics
of our wines, the Martínez-Corta´s family together with their
techniques, choose the best grapes for the conception of our special Crianza.
Withan elaboration of 30 days in which the fruity scent goes from the grapes
to the wine during the alcoholic fermentation, born our special Crianza SOROS
2003.
Something to highlight is that our wine goes into the barrels six moths
after the malolactic fermentation has occurred, that is why our wine is much
more refined
and clean from sludges.
After 12 months in French wood casks (80%) and American wood barrels (20%) the wine is bottled and after six months we begin to taste our wine.
The vintage was given excellent status by the Consejo Regulador. A mild
winter was followed by an early spring, bringing forward the onset vegetative
cycle.
In early September temperatures dropped slowing down the grapes’ maturation.
Around 10th April, summer temperatures returned and the final phase of maturation
was perfect. The grapes came to the winery in perfect condition, with a perfect
balance of sugars and polyphenols.
Deep cherry with a purple edge, intense and elegant, dry black ripen fruits
aroma, coffee and an elegant aroma of wood. Nose, complex, tasty, a sensation
of black fruit, mint chocolate and with a bouquet of great structure
and expressivity. The end is long and persistent where the smoky and the
toast elements confer. A wine that will win in complexity with it rests in
the bottled.
